Miami Wine Lovers, please join us this Thursday, June 26th, at 7 pm for a tasting of four delicious wines: Le Caillou Côtes du Rhône, Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Riesling, Wind Storm Pinot Noir and Evodia Old Vines Garnacha. Le Caillou Côtes du Rhône - Delicious aromas of white-fleshed fruits and the salinity with a hint of bitterness, bringing a nice freshness. A structured and fresh white Côtes-du-Rhône.

Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Riesling - It has fresh, elegant scent of apple and lime with a slightly floral note. Juicy acidity, fine minerality, lean, vibrant and uncomplicated.

Wind Storm Pinot Noir - Deep and rich, with a tempting bouquet of cherry and oak that leads into lush flavors of ripe black cherry, spice, nutmeg and mocha. The firm tannins balance out the waves of fruit to give excellent structure to the wine.

Evodia Old Vines Garnacha - Fresh strawberry and raspberry aromas are deepened by notes of licorice, black tea and pungent herbs. Supple in texture, offering sweet red fruit flavors and showing no rough edges. A smoky note comes up with air, adding complexity to a nicely persistent, red berry-dominated finish.

Join us for an empowering evening with Belkys Perez, Director of the Economic Development Department for the City of Coral Gables. Belkys is a highly skilled communications and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience specializing in communications, media and government relations, and community outreach programs focused on spurring economic growth. Ms. Perez promotes the City’s business-friendly environment for the purpose of retaining and recruiting companies and talent. She helps new to market businesses navigate the permitting process and creates programming to provide businesses with skills and information that makes them more successful. She is also responsible for carrying out activities that enhance the business-friendly environment and vibrancy of the downtown.

Prior to working for the City of Coral Gables, Ms. Perez was an Emmy-nominated news reporter who worked at several television news stations in Florida.

Before her career in television and local government, Ms. Perez graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Art in Broadcast Communications. Years later, she earned her Masters of Business Administration from Florida International University.

As the City Beautiful celebrates its 100th Anniversary, Belkys will talk about what the future holds for Coral Gables. She will also share valuable lessons she's learned as a successful female journalist, marketing and communications professional and governmental leader.
